I would love to see this taught extensively in school for staff and pupils and I have discussed this with the school health coordinator who runs stress workshops for senior pupils.
She would like me to do a workshop for pupils primarily for exam stress. Also she wants taster sessions and workshops for staff to support them and their pupils. We can also see great benefits for SEBD and SEN pupils.
I have personally tapped colleagues for stress relief. Senior pupils also have come for exam stress relief and parents have brought SEBD pupils for behaviour problems.
EFT is a simple but very effective therapy. I think everybody should have this knowledge and it would be very beneficial if it was part of the curriculum!

As a secondary teacher in a practical subject, Home Economics, I have found that there is an increasing number of pupils who do not listen to instructions. Given the nature of the work we do in class this could lead to problems of safety.
Having just learned Emotional Freedom Techniques with EFT UK, I decided to try EFT to improve “concentration” and “listening to instructions”. I invited the pupils in an S1 class (aged 12) to participate and said I wanted to do an experiment. I demonstrated and they followed, tapping themselves, saying the setup phrase, “Even though I find it difficult to listen to instructions and concentrate I’m ok with myself”.
They all participated. As a result, there was less chattering and we had a more enjoyable, productive lesson.
The next week I asked if they thought there had been an improvement - most of them put their hands up. Very encouraging!
